Rowan Costa
Who is Rowan?
When people click on an “About Me” page, they’re usually looking for 2 things: who you are and why you do what you do.
Hi, I’m Rowan Costa. I started my real estate career at just 18 years old, making me the youngest licensed Realtor® in Winnipeg at the time. It was exciting, but also intimidating. Some people celebrated that milestone, while others questioned whether I could really do it. That mix of encouragement and doubt lit a fire under me, and I pushed through the challenges of my first year.
What I discovered is that real estate gave me everything I was looking for: the chance to connect with people, showcase homes, and most importantly, guide first-time buyers through one of the biggest decisions of their lives. Helping someone purchase their very first home, walking them through the process, answering questions, and seeing the excitement on possession day is what I’m most passionate about.
Although I’ve lived in Winnipeg nearly my whole life, I was born in the Philippines and moved here with my family when I was 5 years old. Growing up here has given me deep roots in this city, and it is why I love helping others find their own palace to call home in Winnipeg.
Life Outside of the Industry
They say the real estate brain never shuts off, and honestly, they’re right. It’s not a 9-to-5 where I can just clock out and forget about it until the next day. My phone buzzes, I see a house for sale, or I catch myself scrolling MLS at midnight, it never really stops.
That’s why I make sure to have a life outside of it too.
For me, that’s volleyball. I’ve played for years, and in the last few seasons, I’ve been coaching 16u and 17u boys. Coaching teenage boys.. Let me tell you, if you ever want to learn patience, that’s the way to do it. Half the time I’m wondering if they hear a word I’m saying, the other half I’m laughing because I remember that I did the same stuff they do. It’s one of the most fun and rewarding things I do, and it gives me a break from constantly thinking about square footage and possession dates.
The other side of my life is family. Pretty much every weekend, I’m at some kind of family event, whether it’s a dinner or a birthday. I’m lucky enough to have tons of family in Winnipeg, and if I’m not at a gym, I’m at a family function, eating way too much food. Honestly, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
